    To help kick-off Pride month, Sherwin Modest, Executive Director of Pride Toronto, will join members of exeQutive for a virtual cocktail (or mocktail) and update us on what's happening at Pride Toronto for 2021 and the ongoing visioning for a re-invented (and hopefully in person!) Pride in 2022 and beyond.

  • Stephen Lewis Foundation / Programs to support LGBTI people in Africa

    Although we’re bombarded with daily stories on local pandemic impacts, we are less informed on the difficult situation in Africa which is particularly dire for LGBTI people.  On May 4th, members of exeQutive will hear from leaders on the ground in Africa with a special virtual panel coordinated by the Stephen Lewis Foundation.

    exeQutive members heard from the Carol Osler (Executive Director), Ed Clark (Director; and former President and CEO of TD Bank) and others from Friends of Ruby (formerly known as the Egale LGBTQ2 Youth Shelter) about operations at the shelter and how the architecture of the shelter has helped improve the mental health of LGBTQ2 youth who are living there, using its facilities, and dealing with COVID-19.

    Randy Boissonnault former MPP and former Advisor to the Prime Minister of Canada on LGBTQ2 Issues will discuss his experiences as an MPP, the Federal government’s LGBTQ2-focused accomplishments, and what LGBTQ2 leaders can do to influence further action.

    To mark Black History Month, members of exeQutive and their invited guests will have a conversation about diversity and inclusion at the Art Gallery of Ontario. The discussion will be led by Stephan Jost, Michael and Sonja Koerner Director, and CEO;  Dr. Audrey Hudson, Richard & Elizabeth Currie Chief, Education & Programming; Alain Graham, Interim Chief: People and Dr. Julie Crooks, Curator, Arts of Global Africa and the Diaspora.
